We regret to tell you that the Georgetown Book Shop is no longer in business as a book shop. At Clyde the Glide (and maybe the late Johnny Most) might put it, we survived and thrived for 23 years, but the writing has been on the wall for used book stores ever since the rise of the internet, and we frankly have no interest in playing King Canute with our retirement fund. Compliments are peachy, but they don't pay the bills.

This will NOT affect our internet sites, but it will prevent you from dropping in on the bookshop and seeing all our posters displayed in their full sized format. You may, however, see them in their physical splendor at our house in Kensington, MD, the address of which is given below. You can even grab a bite and practice some pool while you're at it, and the parking is a lot easier than it was in Bethesda or Georgetown.

Our thanks to the many thousands of you who from 1984 to the end of 2006 supported the Georgetown Book Shop in our three locations. We wouldn't have traded those 23 years for anything, and we leave with our heads high and no regrets. We hope to carry on the spirit of that shop on our various websites, with the same variety and sense of fun. Please enjoy your stay here, and spread the word.
