AN IMPORTANT TECHNICAL NOTE ON THE IMAGES!!!
The 'www.georgetownbookshop.com' watermarks which appear on the images you see on your screen will of course not appear on the posters you actually buy.
And all type, no matter how small, is clearly readable on the full-sized posters we sell.
A BRIEF ANSWER TO "WHY ARE YOU SHOWING THESE DISGUSTING PICTURES?"
Because this is what the world was like back then, sonny. We provide full background information to the images, just in case you think we're trying to peddle racist or ideological propaganda just for the hell of it. Even if you are here only to browse and not buy, we strongly recommend that you allow enough time to do these images justice. What you'll see, if you permit yourself the indulgence, is as unexpurgated a view (and illustrated, no less) of the period between 1875 and 1945 as you're ever likely to find on any website, or in any classroom for that matter. Not that all of these images are politically scatalogical; far from it. There are many heroes depicted here as well as scoundrels. But don't say that you weren't warned. If you don't like some of what you see, just be grateful, like us, that you only have to deal with it vicariously.
Now sit back with some cheap wine and a Home Run cigarette and be prepared to be amazed. This is what the world was like back then, sonny.
